Master class “Difficulties in diagnosing cerebral strokes”

On November 09, 2020 employees of the Neurology Department of West Kazkhstan Marat Ospanov medical University held a master class on the topic: “Difficulties in diagnosing of cerebral strokes.” 

As it known, acute disorders of cerebral circulation do not lose their relevance and occupy a leading position among the indicators of mortality and disability from diseases of the cardiovascular system.

The organizers of the master class are associate professor of the Neurology Department Khamidulla A.A. and assistant of the Neurology Department Urasheva Zh.U. The participants of the master class are neurologists of the stroke center and neurology department of the emergency hospital in Aktobe. The purpose of the master class was to increase the level of theoretical training and practical skills of neurologists. The staff of the Neurology Department presented a literature review, including data from scientific publications over the past 5 years, which highlighted in detail the problem of difficulties in diagnosing of cerebral strokes, possible reasons for insufficient interpretation of clinical data and the results of additional research methods. A review of the literature data on ischemic stroke as one of the complications of COVID-19 of varying severity was carried out with an analysis of the characteristic clinical manifestations of the disease.

As examples, clinical cases from own practice were presented with an analysis of the case histories of the stroke center and the neurological department of the emergency hospital in Aktobe.

The topic of the master class aroused keen interest, colleagues actively expressed their opinions and asked questions to the speakers.
