Training cycles for teaching staff of West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University from PUMS
Within the framework of a strategic partnership with the Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS), from October 1 to November 11, training cycles I and II for the teaching staff of WKMU were held.
The cycles took place in accordance with task 1B.2 “Participation of experts of the partner university in the process of building the capacity of the teaching staff of West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University” of the terms of reference. Responsible for the implementation of this task is held to the Center for Continuous Professional Development under the leadership of A.R. Kashkinbaeva. In connection with the global coronavirus pandemic, training took place online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The content of the training cycles I and II included the following topics:
- Curriculum (curriculum development, results-based education, hidden curriculum);
- Evaluation (learning evaluation, evaluation for learning and evaluation as learning, results-based evaluation, evaluation methods in medical education);
- Feedback as a powerful tool for learning and skills development;
- Teaching in small groups, teaching in large groups;
- Introduction: paradigm change in medical education;
- Leadership in medical education;
- Professionalism.
The training was conducted by leading PUMS experts – Paweł Żebryk, Magdalena Cerbin-Koczorowska, Patrycja Marciniak-Stępak. A total of 64 teaching staff of West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University completed the training. The training program included theory, practice and homework. The participants worked in small groups, conducted brainstorming sessions, and exchanged experiences.
