Rules of admission to the military Department: Approved by the Order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 19, 2020 №534 “Rules of military training for the reserve officers program”. Military training of citizens in the programs of reserve officers is organized and carried out in military accounting specialties at military departments of universities on the basis of higher professional education received in accordance with the recruitment plan determined by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.Military training of students is an additional type of training and consists of theoretical and practical training courses, a training camp for young students or professional practice for female students.Military training under the reserve officers ‘ program is provided free of charge and on a paid basis. Students from other universities of Aktobe are attracted to study on a paid basis, and students of the ZKSMU named after M. Ospanov Faculty of General Medicine and recommended by the selection committee for training are attracted on a free basis. Full – time students-citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the age of 24 years as of the year of the competition, who do not have a criminal record, are allowed to participate in the competition.The competition for the selection of students is carried out in three stages:The first stage is the passage of a medical examination in accordance with the Rules of Military Medical Examination and the Regulations on military medical examination bodies in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by the Order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 2, 2015 №373 (registered in the Register of State Registration of Normative Legal Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan under №11846);the second stage – conducting professional and psychological testing;the third stage is a test of physical fitness;the fourth stage is a competitive selection, carried out in accordance with the calculation of the rating score, compiled and approved by the head.The organization of receiving documents and passing the first stage of the competition is assigned to the military department.The second, third and fourth stages are conducted by the selection committee. Passing each stage of the competition is allowed only once. An applicant who has not passed the previous stage is not allowed to proceed to the next stage.
Training at the military department is carried out in the following military accounting specialties:
– Organization of medical support in the ground forces;
– Combat use of ground artillery units, units and formations;
– Planning and organization of territorial defense;
– Combat use of units, units and formations of rocket troops and artillery;
– Organization of educational and ideological work in the ground forces;
– “General stomatology”.

Historical note
A military Department was created in 1959. During this time the Department has trained tens of thousands of highly qualified reserve officers of the medical service at the MAS 901000. Today, many graduates of the Department occupy leadership positions in the medical service of armed forces of Kazakhstan. In accordance with the order of the chief of the General staff of armed forces of Kazakhstan №49 dated 23.02.1999 of the year, the Department trained the students of other universities on the program of reserve officers for MAS commanders of artillery units. By order of the chief of the General staff of armed forces of Kazakhstan №59 of 10.03.2001 till August 2010, there was conducted training of reserve officers for MAS Deputy commanders of artillery units on educational and social legal work.According to the order of the Minister of defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 05.03.2004, №94, and order of the Minister of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 20.02.2004, №132 military Department of Republican state enterprise “West Kazakhstan state medical University named after Marat Ospanov” was given an Intercollegiate status.By order of the Minister of defence of the RK №188 from 29.06.2007 during 2007-2009 academic years, there was conducted training of personnel officers from number of University alumni.The military Department includes the academic building with all necessary classrooms, parade ground drill, tactical training, fire town, warehouses. There are tactical terrain layouts, small artillery and small-arms ranges with laser and sound imitation activities of his troops and of the enemy, targets of gunfire, exploding shells, managed by using a distributed local computer network. There is also a deployed training medical part, there are service kits medical assets, and interactive laser shooting galleries that allow to perform tasks on shooting from Makarov gun.

In accordance with the reserve officers preparation program, students enrolled at the military Department undergo training sessions in military units 30238.

With the purpose of military-patriotic education of youth, the military Department annually organizes meetings of students of the military Department with veterans of the great Patriotic War and soldiers internationalists. There are also military-patriotic events that are held with students and schoolchildren in museums and schools of Aktobe.

In 2015 and 2016, team of the Military Department participated in the Republican Aibyn” military-patriotic youth jamboree. In 2016 among medical universities, our team took first place.
