Lecture visiting professor from Poland

On December 6, 2021, at the Department of Public Health and Healthсare was the first lecture of Professor Katarzyna Wiecherowska-Tobis, Head of the Department of Palliative Care of the University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland. This lecture was held within the framework of the visiting professor experience exchange program. Fourth year students of the faculties “Public Health”, “Nursing”, as well as undergraduates, PhD doctoral students and teachers from different departments of our university actively participated in this online lecture, which was held on the Zoom platform. The lecture consisted of several parts: Introduction to gerontology, understanding the concepts “old age”, “life expectancy”, as well as a comparative analysis of average life expectancy in Kazakhstan and the countries of Poland and Japan. During the lecture students learned about the trends of population aging around the world with a forecast for 2050, which causes concern for ministries and departments of health around the world and sets questions to solve this problem of Public Health.
