Seminar-training at the department of languages
As part of the visiting professor program, from May 30 to June 3, a seminar – training “Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)” Student Research Education” was held at the department of languages. The training seminar was conducted by Drs. Henk Frencken, professor at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. The seminar-training was attended by teachers of the department of languages, the department of natural and humanitarian disciplines, Psychology, teaching in groups of the International Medical Faculty, heads and employees of various departments of the university, as well as invited teachers from Russia.
In the work of the training seminar, the participants were presented with topics of great interest for conducting practical classes and research work of students: subject-language integrated learning, the use of CLIL in practical classes in medical universities, analysis and planning of students’ research work, students’ research work, the introduction of research work of students in the curriculum of medical universities. Besides the teachers and staff of the university, 1-4 year students of the International Medical Faculty took an active part in the seminar-training, they listened to online lectures by professors from the University of Birmingham, and also watched and discussed online presentations of research papers by foreign students. The professor noted the active work of the participants of the training seminar, the high level of English proficiency of our teachers and staff, as well as the interest in the topics presented at the seminar, and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
