«Visiting Professor»

From April 17 to 22, a visit of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor and WHO expert Aringazina Altyn Muafikovna, organized by the Department of General Hygiene, took place at the Marat Ospanov WKMU within the framework of academic mobility under the Visiting Professor program.

During the visit, Professor A.M. Aringazina met with the Rector of the M. Ospanov ZKMU A.A. Kaliev, during which issues of further development of the university and entry into the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and cooperation with the European Organization for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences (ORPHEUS) were discussed.

As a result of the meeting the Executive Director of IUHPE on the initiative of Professor Aringazina A.M. sent an official letter to the university with an offer to become an academic institutional member of IUHPE (headquarters is located in Montreal, Canada).

A round table on the review of scientific articles was held at the Department of General Hygiene. A seminar for university staff on the topic “Publication of scientific articles in foreign journals” was also organized. The purpose of the events is to increase the publication activity of the staff of the Marat Ospanov ZKMU in peer–reviewed publications.

A master class was held for the members of the research group of the project of the Department of General Hygiene “Global COVID-19 Survivors Study”, during which the results of the study of the intercountry project on the study of literacy in health issues were discussed. 32 countries of Europe and Asia are involved in this project.

Professor also attended practical classes of students of the International Medical Faculty on the discipline “General Hygiene”. Also, for students of the International Medical Faculty, Professor Aringazina A.M. held a lecture “Health Promotion: Discipline and Development”.

The purpose of the lecture is to increase the level of students’ literacy in health issues in order to strengthen control over their health and improve the health of future patients in their upcoming professional activities. During the lecture, the students took an active part in discussions with the professor and received answers to their questions on health promotion and protection.
