«The History Lessons»

On November 3, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of the Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University and the discussion club «Zhalyn” held the Republican Intellectual Olympiad «Tarikh Tagylymy», dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Magzhan Zhumabayuly. The event was held by Shugyla Dosmaganbetova, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of General Medicine, winner of the 2022 Intellectual Olympiad.

Twenty teams from different higher educational institutions of the country took part in the Olympics. The intellectual event consisted of 4 stages, at the 1st stage test tasks were given on the subject «history», the 2nd stage was called «Historical figures, films, cities of the – ХІХ-ХХ centuries», at the 3rd stage «Historical novels» were analyzed, the 4th stage was devoted to the works M. Zhumabayuly.

In the finals, five teams consisting of students were able to demonstrate their intellectual abilities from M.Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University, K.Zhubanov university and S. Baishev University.

The teams’ work was assessed by teachers of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines B.Shamshi, S.Kumyspaev, M.Islamov and 6th year student A.Boranbaeva who summarized the results. On behalf of the rector, the head of the department, candidate of historical sciences Zh.Tolepbergeni awarded the students.

The event organizer B.Moldin noted that in the future the same intellectual Olympiads will find their continuation, and that the future belongs to self-confident, educated young people, as Magzhan Zhumabaiuly sang.
