Scientific and practical conference: “Cardiology news – review of the latest ESC Guidelines”

November 23, Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine №2 of the NCJSC WKMU named after Marat Ospanov, Director of the Aktobe branch of the Association of Cardiologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bekbolat Kulzhanovich Zholdin, with the support of Servier Kazakhstan LLP, organized and held a scientific and practical conference: “Cardiology News: Review of the Latest ESC Guidelines.” The conference was held in a hybrid format, with the participation of doctors from the entire Western region: cardiologists, internists, family doctors, and resident doctors.

The conference was devoted to an overview of the latest medical recommendations of the European Society of Arterial Hypertension and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 2023.

During the scientific and practical conference, those present at the conference were presented with updated medical recommendations on certain arterial hypertension, which contain 22 sections updated or published for the first time and include 17 new categories of patients that were not identified or very briefly described in previous recommendations. Also presented are new ESC guidelines for diagnosis and specific cardiomyopathies – the first international document on specific cardiomyopathies that are not related to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Much attention was paid to the guidelines of the Society of European Cardiologists in 2023 for the diagnosis and treatment of endocarditis, which, compared to the European guidelines (2015), have 8 new recommendations and 7 revised recommendations.

At the end of the conference, the ESC guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndrome from 2023 were presented, where current data were assessed and summarized to help doctors choose the best diagnostic and treatment methods for a particular patient with this disease.

The conference was moderated by the chief freelance cardiologist of the Aktobe OHC, Irina Viktorovna Guseva, who presented data on the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases in the Aktobe region.

The main speaker of the conference is a cardiologist, candidate of medical sciences, professor of the Department of Internal Medicine №2 of WKMU named after Marat Ospanov, director of the Aktobe branch of the Association of Cardiologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the ESC, RSC, OSSN, presidium of the Association of Therapists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expert council on atherosclerosis Zholdin Bekbolat Kulzhanovich. With reports on current indications, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in all new measures of the ESC, as well as teachers of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2: PhD Yeshniyazov Nurlan Bolatovich, PhD Medovshchikov Vadim Vladimirovich, PhD student Amanova Aiganym Amirovna.

At the end of the conference, participants were given certificates.
