At the end of this year, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Altay Taizhanovich Tayzhanov, a famous scientist and public figure, turns 75 years old. The name of Altay Tayzhanov has long been widely known not only in the region, but also in the republic. He is characterized by high citizenship, decency and integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Professor A. Tayzhanov is one of the leading scientists in the field of national philosophical thought. The fruitful scientific activity of Altai Tayzhanov over these years can be called a process of interested participation of a scientist and a citizen in solving the fateful tasks of the spiritual and cultural development of Kazakhstan.

Altai Taizhanovich went through all the stages of a scientific worker. 1985-1991 Associate Professor of Aktobe State Medical Institute; 1991-1997 Head of the Department of «History of Culture and Ethnopedagogy» of the Aktobe Pedagogical Institute, then, K. Zhubanova ASU; 1997 – 2000 Vice-rector for scientific work, director of the research and innovation-methodological center. Head department of Social and Political Disciplines of the University. K. Zhubanova; From September 2000 to December 2002 – Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs. Head Department of Philosophy and Sociology, Saktagan Baishev Aktobe University. From 2003 to 2019 – head of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines at Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan State Medical University.

A.T. Tayzhanov is known as a prominent M. Auezov expert. His development as a scientist is directly related to the name of the classic of Kazakh literature, thinker Mukhtar Auezov; candidate and doctoral dissertations were defended on the ideological issues of his work. Author of 20 monographs, 8 educational and methodological manuals, programs of more than 700 scientific and methodological articles.

As a scientist-philosopher, teacher A.T. Tayzhanov over the years was a member of the editorial board of the magazines “Aqikat”, “Al-Farabi”, “Ustaz Zharshysy”, “Bulletin of ASU named after. Kh. Zhubanov”, “Bulletin of the ASPI” and the Dissertation Council on the History of Philosophy and Social Thought Almaty and Astana. And now he fruitfully collaborates with the editors of various magazines and newspapers. Under his leadership, PhD theses of graduate students and applicants were defended. He has also been working for several years as a member of the industry editorial board of the State Program “MADENI MURA” (“Cultural Heritage”), created under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Professor A.T. Tayzhanov for his impeccable work in training highly qualified specialists was awarded the medal “Eren Enbegi Ushin” (2006), the orders «Kurmet» (2016), «Parasat» (2022). Has «Letters of Gratitude» from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, akim of the region. He is the winner of the nomination “For significant contribution to expanding the scope of functioning of the state language and the formation of Kazakhstan’s spiritual unity.” Honorary citizen of Aktobe сity and Aktobe region.

In recent years, Altai Taizhanovich has been teaching at the Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University. As before, his lectures on philosophy and special courses arouse increased interest among listeners, refuting the popular belief that philosophy is not held in high esteem among young people today.
