Dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Aktobe

Traditional ski races were held on the ski area at the Zhastar Arena sports complex. The faculty and staff of the university took part in them. The competitions organized by the Sunkar Sports Club and the Department of Physical Education were dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the city of Aktobe.

The competitions were held as part of the personal championship among 8 teams in age groups from 24 to 60 years and older, separately for men and women. For women of the age categories from 24 to 44 years, the distance was 1 km, for other ages – 500 meters. The distance for men aged 24 to 44 years is set at 2 km, for other ages – 1 km.

Welcoming the participants of the ski races, Rector of the University Asset Kaliev noted: “This winter holiday unites those who sincerely love skiing, enjoy physical education, and set an example to others by their commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle. I am convinced that everyone who went to the start today will demonstrate their skills and please the fans with their hard struggle.” The head of the university also wished successful starts and victorious finishes to the participants of the ski races and unforgettable impressions to the fans.

The competition was evaluated by the judging team consisting of the chief judge of the ski races E.Dema, judge A.Duanbekov, chief secretary R.Kanapina.

In the overall standings, the departments of the Dean’s Office of Dentistry and Public Health took the 1st place with the most victories in the ski championship. The 2nd place in terms of the number of victories was taken by the departments of the Dean’s Office of General Medicine. The 3rd place was awarded to the staff of the University Medical Center.

As a result of the competition, Rector of the University Asset Kaliev presented the winners with medals, Diplomas, and cash certificates.
