Presentation of the Children’s Simulation Center

The Practical Skills Center of the M.Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University presented the Children’s Simulation Center for the faculty members of the Departments of Pediatrics N2 and Pediatric Surgery.

The center is equipped with phantoms, mannequins, trainers, and simulators of a 4-6 level of realism, allowing the modeling of processes and clinical situations of professionals’ activities with a high degree of authenticity. Medical educational robot simulators, a training simulation complex for premature newborns to practice skills in various conditions, diagnostics, and the performance of all invasive procedures, as well as conducting cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, are available to students.

The advantages of the simulation center are, first and foremost, the acquisition of skills without risk to the patient, an unlimited number of repetitions for practice and error elimination, objective assessment of manipulation performance, the opportunity to study rare pathologies, conditions, interventions, absence of stress, and an increase in the quality of medical care provision.

Currently, a specialist must possess appropriate knowledge and high professionalism not only in theoretical matters but also in manual skills. Therefore, the introduction of simulation training is the main direction in the educational process of preparing medical personnel.
