Open day
An open Day dedicated to the prevention of cancer was held at the University Medical Center. On this day, 104 people were examined by specialists in various oncological fields, including oncologists, oncogynecologists, ENT oncologists, oncosurgeons, and computed tomography and ultrasound examinations were performed according to indications, which allows timely detection and prevention of the development of oncological diseases.
This event, preceding World Cancer Day, highlighted the critical importance of public awareness of early diagnosis and prevention of cancer.
In 2023, 1,890 cases of malignant neoplasms were registered in Aktobe region, of which 23% are at the initial stage, which is an improvement in early diagnosis, thanks to active detection and screening programs. As part of the fight against cancer in the region, three cancer screenings were conducted in 2023, which allowed to identify up to 50% of cases of diseases in the early stages.
This event highlights the need for joint efforts of the medical community and the public in the fight against cancer and the importance of early diagnosis for successful cancer treatment.
