Department day

In order to draw public attention to the catastrophic medical, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis, WHO calls for raising public awareness of this infection and intensifying efforts to reduce the global burden of tuberculosis. Every year, on March 24, World Tuberculosis Day is celebrated. Timed to this date as part of the ongoing tuberculosis control month on February 29, 2024, a conference dedicated to the Day of the Department of Phthisiology and Dermatovenerology of the West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University was held.

Purpose: to familiarize with the history of the department, as well as to improve the knowledge and skills of students in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis.

The conference was attended by the faculty staff of the department of West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University, employees of the Aktobe regional phthisiopulmonology center, phthisiatricians from the primary health care organization of the region. The intern doctors prepared presentations on current issues in phthisiology and conducted a quiz.

At the end of the conference, the results of the competition were summed up, the best team of interns was awarded prizes. The Department of Phthisiology and Dermatovenerology of the Marat Ospanov WKMU thanks the staff of the Aktobe Regional Phthisiopulmonological Center for cooperation and assistance in holding the event.
