On amendments and amendments to legislative acts on health issues in Kazakhstan

The President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the Law “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on health issues”.

For the medical community of our country, the changes and additions made are extremely important and have special significance in terms of supporting medical workers-recognizing the important status and prestige of the profession in society, creating decent working conditions.

In recent years, unfortunately, there have been cases of attacks on medical workers, obstacles to the performance of professional duty. Now, this is reflected in the new additions to the legislative act. It is encouraging that the new Law pays significant attention to reducing the personnel deficit in rural areas by providing young professionals with one-time payments of one hundred times the minimum wage, provided they work for 5 years. This will be a good incentive for young professionals to choose employment in severely deficient specialties in rural areas. Of great importance for medical professionals will be simplification and exemption from excessive provision of information and reporting, which will avoid excessive workload and devote more attention and time to the patient, reducing negative attitudes.

Taking into account the preventive orientation of the state health policy, important amendments have been adopted, in terms of banning the sale, advertising of smoking tobacco products, vapes and their mixtures, which will be a worthy contribution to strengthening the health of young people.

Unfortunately, medical workers, not in words, but in their professional activities, have repeatedly encountered the severe consequences of the influence of harmful substances on the human body. The introduction of the new honorary title “Kazakstan enbek sinirgen darigeri” for a significant contribution to the healthcare of Kazakhstan will be a worthy reward for the professional work of medical workers.

Thus, all the existing amendments and additions to the new Law will reflect the state’s concern for medical workers, as well as health promotion of the younger generation and youth.
