Took the third place

The annual symposium of pediatric surgeons “Surgical diseases of the anterior abdominal wall in children” and the 30th Russian Scientific Student Conference “Topical issues of surgery, anesthesiology and intensive care of children” were held in Samara, Russia. The event was attended by delegates from the regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Palestine, and Belarus.

At the symposium, experts from different countries discussed the diagnosis and treatment of anterior abdominal wall HPV — gastroschisis and omphalocele, as well as hernias of the anterior abdominal wall. Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Surgery Bauyrzhan Bisaliev made a presentation on “Surgical treatment of inguinal hernias in children using the PIRS method”.

150 reports among students and 97 poster presentations among residents were presented at the conference. The poster presentation was made by the resident of the Department of Pediatric Surgery Bori Beybarys, who took the III place. At the conference, students and teaching staff shared their experiences and exchanged views on solving urgent problems in pediatric surgery in various sections.

At the end of the conference, after awarding the winners, the symbol of the conference “Scalpel” was handed over to the Yaroslavl State Medical University.
