An outstanding public figure

Today is the birthday of an outstanding public figure, scientist and politician, the first chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a native of Aktobe Marat Ospanov. In this regard, the audience honored the memory of the scientist with a minute of silence and laid flowers at his monument-bust. Marat Turdybekovich would have turned 75 years old. Unfortunately, he passed away too soon. Despite his short life path, he left an indelible mark, and his name and bright image will never be forgotten.

Marat Ospanov was born on September 17, 1949 in Aktobe. He is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of National Economy. He began his career as a teacher at the Aktobe Medical Institute and gradually reached the position of head of the department. In 1979, he graduated from the graduate school of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Being a respected mentor, he educated many students and provided significant assistance in their education. Marat Turdybekovich did not limit himself to medical activities, but also proved himself in the field of economics and management. Having received a financial education, he led important reforms that had a positive impact on the development of the country’s economic policy. He made a significant contribution to the rapid development of the economy of Independent Kazakhstan.

Today there is a street in the center of our city named after him. There is a commemorative plaque on the wall of the house where he lived. Our university, which has almost seventy years of history, bears the name of a scientist. A bust of him has been installed in the educational institution, and a special exposition with valuable objects of the scientist is kept in the university museum.
