Аt the top of science

The regional Museum of Local Lore hosts the exhibition «At the Top of Science», dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the city of Aktobe and the 95th anniversary of the regional Museum of Local Lore. The exposition of the exhibition hall presents materials about outstanding personalities who have made a significant contribution to the development of medicine and science in the Kazakh SSR and in Western Kazakhstan.

The exhibition features personal belongings and photographs of such prominent figures as the founder of the neurosurgical service of Western Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yuri Biryuchkov, head of the Department of Neurosurgery with a course in Traumatology at the University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief neurosurgeon of the regional Health Department, Doctor of the highest category Mikhail Biryuchkov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Professor, who led the University for almost a quarter of a century, Azhmagi Smagulov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Honored Scientist of Kazakhstan Sayym Balmukanov, MD, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the Academy of Preventive Medicine Raisa Kozdenbayeva, former Rector of the University, outstanding physician, MD, Professor Zhaksylyk Doskaliev, as well as neurosurgeon, Professor, MD, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board of JSC «National Center of Neurosurgery» Serik Aksholakov.

These personalities have left a significant mark in the history of medicine and science, and their achievements are presented at the exhibition.
