“TRADITIONS, INNOVATIONS AND CONTINUITY IN OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY”

As part of the celebration of the anniversary of the founding of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Marat Ospanov National Medical University and the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a scientific and practical conference of otorhinolaryngologists with international participation on the topic “TRADITIONS, INNOVATIONS AND CONTINUITY IN OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY” was held at our university.

Taking into account the epidemiological situation, the conference was held in a mixed format.

The main scientific and practical directions of the conference:

-New technologies in otorhinolaryngology;

-Prospects for the development of otorhinolaryngology in Western Kazakhstan;

-Outpatient and inpatient care (including children’s) – issues of organization, diagnosis, treatment and prevention;

-Actual problems of pathology of ENT organs;

-ENT oncology issues.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Health Department of the Aktobe region R.K. Isaev, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor R.K. Tulebaev, Acting Rector of the NAO ZKMU named after M.Ospanov E.K. Ismagulov, chief physician of the Aktobe Medical Center E.B. Sultangereev, veteran of the otorhinolaryngological service N.S. Karymsakova.

After the welcoming speech, the awarding and honoring of veterans of the otorhinolaryngological service took place: V.V. Zheleznova, G.F. Lashina, G.M. Seredenko, E.B.Iglikova, S.K. Zhenisbayeva, N.S. Karymsakova, S.Zh. Rahieva, S.N. Makarova.

The conference consisted of a plenary session, the speakers of which were professors, associate professors, PhD doctors, doctors of practical healthcare in Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Turkey, South Korea, as well as masters, assistants, residents.

Delegates and participants of the scientific and practical conference discussed topical problems of otorhinolaryngology, ways of introducing new high technologies into practical activities, noted that certain positive changes have taken place in the service over the past decades.

A virtual book exhibition and online workshops were also held in parallel:

  1. Questions on planning and development of the main stages of the scientific project (Head of the Department of Pathological Physiology of the NAO ZKMU named after M.Ospanov A.N. Zheksenova)
  2. Why evidence-based medicine is needed, including for otorhinolaryngology (Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor of the NON-COMMERCIAL JOINT STOCK COMPANY WEST KAZAKHSTAN MARAT OSPANOV MEDICAL UNIVERSITY R.K. Nazarbayev)

This conference is of great theoretical and practical importance for both outpatient and inpatient otorhinolaryngological services. The topics discussed highlight the achievements of modern medicine, which is an important factor in the practical development of doctors in the regions.
