Tribute to the memory of the scientist-teacher

Today, on December 25th, the grand opening of the memorial plaque was held near the walls of the main building of the University, on the day of the 85th anniversary of the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professor, doctor of medical sciences, member of the international surgical community Namaz Izimbergenovich Izimbergenov (12/25/1937 – 12/5/2019).

Colleagues, students, relatives and friends of the academician attended the solemn opening ceremony of the memorial plaque.

The rector of WKMU A. Kaliyev, professor B. Zhakiyev, professor Zhenalayev B., and son of academician M. Izimbergenov shared their memories and said gratitude words. The honorary right to open a memorial plaque was granted to Professor B.K. Dzhenalayev and M.N. Izimbergenov.

N.I. Izimbergenov is a graduate of the Aktobe State Medical Institute. The biography of N. Izimbergenov is closely connected with the history of the formation and development of the surgical service of the Aktobe region and Western Kazakhstan. For a quarter of a century, the academician headed the Department of Hospital Surgery of the WKMU named after Marat Ospanov, created his own school of surgeons, a regional center for emergency surgical care for pregnant women and puerperas, and much more.

Over the years of his teaching and practical activity, Namaz Izimbergenov has prepared 6 Doctors of Science and 38 Candidates of Medical Sciences, he is the author of more than 600 scientific papers, including 13 monographs, 28 guidelines on topical issues of surgery, owner of 22 patents. Repeatedly awarded many state awards, including the Akhmet Baitursynov medal, a diploma from the International Biographical Center (England), recognized as one of the “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century”, awarded a diploma in the Golden Scapel nomination, etc.

The students of N.I. Izimbergenov continue to work with dignity in many regions of Kazakhstan and far beyond its borders.

At the end of the solemn ceremony, a memorial dinner was held.
