Since August 27 to September 3, an ELNEC (End of Life Nursing Education Consortium) training seminar on palliative care was held in Salzburg (Austria), which was attended by the head of the Psychology Department, PhD Miraleyeva A.I.

ELNEC is an international educational initiative that provides teachers, nurses and other medical professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide specialized care and have a positive impact on the lives of patients and families facing serious illnesses and/or passing away. The curriculum has been developed as a result of the work of nationally recognized palliative care experts, is reviewed annually taking into account new achievements in this field and modified for each individual audience. 33 medical workers from 10 countries took part in this seminar. The seminar addressed such issues as “The state and development of palliative care in the world”, “Pain and pain relief”, “Symptom control”, “Communication skills in palliative care”, “Leadership”. In addition to lectures, practical classes were held with the analysis of clinical cases, role-playing games.

The workshop participants were given the opportunity to develop and present presentations from each country, which focused on solving problems, opportunities and plans for the implementation and dissemination of ELNEC to improve palliative care. For the same purpose, access to international educational resources on palliative care was provided.
