Explained the work of the electronic library

On November 17, the staff of the Department of General Medical Practice 1, under the supervision of the department head, Ph.D. A.Seipenova, organized a “Day of the Department” at the scientific and medical library of WKMU named after Marat Ospanov.

The event hosted esteemed guests from practical healthcare, including Deputy Chief Physician of the “Family Medicine Clinic,” Izimova G., and general practitioner Zhbanova A. The primary objective of this event was to cultivate self-service skills within the university library environment.

Participants were introduced to the library’s resources, structure, and methods for document retrieval using the electronic catalog and the library’s website. Additionally, they received guidance on the registration process for electronic resources. The library staff provided a comprehensive overview of the current library collection, ensuring that each department member was registered for electronic resources. Furthermore, they elucidated the functioning of the electronic library.

Among the electronic resources showcased were “Epigraph,” “Doctor’s Consultant,” “Bookup,” and “IPR books,” available in State, Russian, and English languages. These systems encompass textbooks, manuals, monographs, and practical guides relevant to the subjects under study. English-language sources such as “Access Medicine” were also highlighted, offering a wealth of textbooks, images, audio, and video materials related to medicine.

The meeting facilitated hands-on experience for the department staff and guests to utilize electronic resources, emphasizing remote access. Moreover, it aimed to equip both students and doctors with the necessary skills to navigate and utilize the electronic library effectively.
