They laid flowers

On May 9, a ceremony of laying flowers at Victory monuments dedicated to Victory Day took place in Aktobe. It was attended by the heads of the region and the city, law enforcement agencies, veterans, representatives of enterprises, political parties, public and ethno-cultural associations, higher educational institutions and other organizations.

Rector of the University Asset Kaliev and Executive Director Yerlan Zhienalin also laid flowers at the memorial complex of Aliya Moldagulova.

More than 122 thousand people were drafted to the war fronts, of which over 36 thousand died a brave death. 35 Aktobe residents were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 9 more became full holders of the Order of Glory. A special place in their row is occupied by the name of the legendary sniper girl Aliya Moldagulova.

Unfortunately, the ranks of participants in the bloodiest war in the history of mankind are thinning from year to year. The 79th Victorious May in our region is met by the only veteran Vasily Gretsky. There are fewer home front workers today, 2,280 people live in the region.
