The prevention of disease and illness in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As part of the «Sustainable Development Goals» program, in support of a healthy lifestyle of the population, the Department of Surgical and Pediatric Dentistry and the student scientific club “Dentist” held an event on the prevention of dental diseases. The event was held in accordance with SDG point 3, which aims to «ensure healthy lifestyles and promote well-being for all at all ages».
The majority of people neglect to visit a dental clinic in a timely manner and do not fully understand the importance of maintaining hygiene standards, which in turn helps prevent further development of caries. Therefore, we have provided our patients with the opportunity to receive professional ultrasonic teeth cleaning services, safely removing dental plaque, stones and mild plaque. After cleaning, the dentist can correctly assess the condition of the tooth enamel and its pathological changes, which will allow for further treatment in the early stages.
We carried out educational work with patients at the ZKMU clinic named after Marat Ospanov, teaching them proper oral hygiene, demonstrating them on mock-ups and telling them about additional dental care products. Individual consultations were held with patients, during which we selected hygiene products for each and presented useful gifts.
