Using Scopus and ScienceDirect to improve the quality of research

A seminar was held at WKMU named after Marat Ospanov on the topic “Using Scopus and ScienceDirect to improve the quality of research”.

The purpose of the seminar is to increase publication activity and expand knowledge in the field of information support of research activities. The training seminar was organized by Elsiever, and the training representative of Elsiever in Kazakhstan Karimbekov Toktar Senbekuly spoke to the audience. The seminar was actively attended by teaching staff, undergraduates and doctoral students in the amount of 22 people.

The possibilities of using Scopus and ScienceDirect in preparing a scientific article and selecting a journal for its publication were examined in detail. One of the main Elsiever products, a bibliographic assistant, the Mendeley program, which allows you to organize articles, store and view research papers of other scientists, was also presented.

Presentation report aroused great interest. Seminar participants asked questions and hone practical skills in using international databases. Summing up the seminar, the participants noted the interesting topic of the report and the quality of the presentations, emphasized the importance of publication for young scientists in international databases, and also gained practical skills for the successful continuation of their research activities.

To confirm this knowledge, students will receive a certificate from Elsiever.
