“IT-Medicine” program

A new joint educational program “IT-Medicine” was opened at the undergraduate level by the universities ARSU K. Zhubanov and WKMU M.Ospanov.

She has already been entered in the unified register of specialties for the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Direction of the educational program is “Information and Communication Technologies”.

The appearance of the new specialty on the market of educational services was facilitated by the active development of digitalization in various areas, including healthcare.

The learning process will take place at the same time in two universities: Zhubanov University and West Kazakhstan Medical University.

The term of study is 4 years. Study groups consist of Kazakh, Russian, English languages.

In the modular educational program, only 240 credits, of which 60% are disciplines of the Zhubanov University, 40% – medical university.

The basis of the disciplines is Internet technology in medicine, the development and design of a database of biomedical medicine, artificial intelligence, data analysis and machine learning, e-health, project management in healthcare.

IT-medics can be employed in any research institutes, clinics, hospitals, small private laboratories involved in conducting serious research.

In the future, the universities are planning to continue the cooperation in the areas of “neuropsychology”, “biophysics.”
