Zhakiev Bazylbek Sagidollievich – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, head of the department

After graduating from the medical faculty of Aktobe State Medical Institute (1982) and a one-year internship, he went on to become a practical surgeon and scientist. He worked as a surgeon at the Ordyn Central District Hospital of the Ural region. From 1986 to 1988, he completed a clinical residency in surgery at the Department of Hospital Surgery of the Asmi. During his training in clinical residency, he specialized in angiosurgery at the vascular department of Kaz.Research Institute of K and EH named after A.N.Syzganov. From 1988 to 1989 He worked as a surgeon at the Aktobe Regional Clinical Hospital. In 1989, he was elected by competition as an assistant at the Department of Hospital Surgery of the Aktobe Medical Institute, since 1998 – associate professor and from 2003 to 2004 head of the department of the named department. From 2004 to 2009 he headed the Department of Faculty Surgery and since 2009 he has been the head of the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 2.

History of creation:

The Department of Surgical Diseases No. 2 with Urology (formerly the Department of Hospital Surgery) was organized in 1961 on the basis of the surgical department of the regional hospital. The first head of the department was Ph.D., Associate Professor Boris Sergeevich Gudimov from 1961 to 1963. From 1963 to 1969 – Ph.D., Associate Professor Georgy Prokopievich Barsukov. From 1969 to 1979 – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Pyotr Ivanovich Polyakov. From 1979 to August 2002 – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Namaz Izimbergenovich Izimbergenov. From September 2002 to December 2002 – MD, Professor Sarsen Nagimovich Koblandin. From January 2003 to July 2003 – Doctor of Medical Sciences Serik Zhumabaevich Sakhipov. From August 2003 to September 2004 – Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Bazylbek Sagidollaevich Zhakiev. From October 2004 to December 2008 – MD Mirsaid Namazovich Izimbergenov. From January 2009 to the present – MD, Professor Bazylbek Sagidollaevich Zhakiev. The department provides training in the following specialties: residency, master’s and doctoral studies in surgery. Since the formation of the department, the staff has published 20 monographs, more than 2,000 scientific articles, more than 20 teaching aids and over 40 methodological recommendations. More than 70 certificates for inventions and innovation proposals have been received. The number of prepared and defended doctoral dissertations is 15, PhD dissertations are more than 60. The staff of the department performs a lot of organizational and methodological, therapeutic and preventive work. The Republican Center for Emergency Surgery and Peritonitis, established in 1990 by order of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR, operates on the basis of the department. Since 2018, the GOLDENSCALPEL Student Surgical Club has been operating at the department.

training of surgeons who meet the requirements of the professional educational standard and are competitive in the labor market of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel (residents, undergraduates, doctoral students).

Activities

The department provides training in the following specialties: internship in surgery, residency, master’s and doctoral studies in surgery. New educational technologies have been introduced into the educational process — TBL, CBL, standardized patient, situational tasks in the Interactive Learning portal). During the training of interns on all topics, clinical protocols and principles of evidence-based medicine are used.Since the formation of the department, the staff has published 20 monographs, more than 2,000 scientific articles, more than 20 teaching aids, including 7 in the state language and over 40 methodological recommendations. More than 70 certificates for inventions and innovation proposals have been received. The number of prepared and defended doctoral dissertations is 15, PhD dissertations – more than 60.Republican scientific and practical conferences (1990, 1993, 2011 and 2017) with the participation of surgeons from the CIS countries were held on the basis of the department.The staff of the department performs a lot of organizational and methodological, therapeutic and preventive work, not only on the clinical basis and in the Aktobe region, and within the Western region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.The Republican Center for Emergency Surgery and Peritonitis, established in 1990 by order of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR, operates on the basis of the department.The staff of the department has been dealing with the problem of purulent-septic complications of acute diseases and injuries of the abdominal cavity for a long time.

Achievements

From 2004 to 2006, the staff of the department carried out scientific research under the state program “Prognosis, prevention and treatment of purulent-septic complications in abdominal surgery”. This project has passed international expertise and is rated at 2.5 points (the highest is 1 point).In 2006, the department participated in the All—Kazakhstan exhibition “Education, new technologies – 2006” in Astana and was awarded an honorary certificate of the exhibition. In 2009 on the basis of the department, a regional center for emergency surgical care for pregnant women and maternity hospitals has been organized.In 2010, the department was awarded a diploma in the nomination “The best social project” of the competition “The best innovative project of the Aktobe region” for the project “Prevention and treatment of purulent-septic complications in abdominal surgery”. Scientific research is currently underway in the following areas:Development of modern methods for the diagnosis and treatment of peritonitis and other purulent-septic complications of diseases of the abdominal cavity.The use of modern endovideosurgical technology in emergency surgery.Development of methods of efferent therapy of purulent septic diseases in surgery.Active methods of treatment of purulent diseases.Improving the provision of surgical care to pregnant women and maternity hospitals. Optimization of surgical treatment methods for destructive forms of acute pancreatitis.Bariatric surgery.Kidney and liver transplantation.The research work of students has been carried out in the scientific student circle of the department since 1962 and is inextricably linked with the scientific work of the staff of the department. In 2011 The NSC of the department participated in the Uzdik gylym uyirme competition, where it took 1st place and was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree and a cup.The department holds an annual “Best Surgeon” competition among surgical interns.Since 2018, the GOLDENSCALPEL Student Surgical Club has been operating at the department.The GOLDENSCALPEL team took 2 places at the I International Student Olympiad “CAOSalmaty” — 2019, which was held in Almaty, on May 14-16, 2019, they also took part in the International Student Olympiad in Neurosurgery.Tyumen, Russia (April 2-3, 2019) and at the I International Student Olympiad in Medicine in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan (April 24-26, 2019). At the 59th international scientific conference of young scientists “Science: Yesterday, today, tomorrow” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences. Marata Ospanova, Aktobe, on April 24, 2019, the student surgical club “GOLDENSCALPEL” was awarded a diploma of the first degree.
