Нead of department:

The head of the department is Abitova Anara Zhumabekovna, a doctor of hygienist-epidemiologist, Master of Medical Sciences. She was educated at the West Kazakhstan State Medical University named after M.Ospanov in the specialty “Preventive medicine” in 2003-2009. Over the years, she actively participated in national, international and intra-university projects of grant and program-targeted financing, headed the project of intra-university financing, articles and abstracts were published in domestic and foreign journals, author’s certificates were obtained and the results of the research were implemented in practical healthcare.

History of creation:

The Department of Research Management is a structural unit of the Department of Scientific Affairs of the Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University. The history of the department dates back to 2010, when it was initially named “Development of Innovations and High Technology Transfer” and was part of the Scientific and Practical Center. The main goal of the department was to develop priorities for scientific and technical development for innovative activities and scientific and technical reform of the university in order to enhance the competitiveness of research activities. The department’s work also included commercialization of research results, innovative scientific projects, and developments to create conditions and new technologies for mobilizing both foreign and domestic investments, as well as the development and formation of innovations. In 2016, the department changed its name to “Department of Scientific and Innovation Management”, and in 2019, it acquired its current name.

Objective:

Consulting and documentation on the planning of scientific research, implementation of the results of scientific research.

Department activities:
– Consultation on the design of filing applications for a patent, copyright certificate and commercialization of scientific research;
– Registration of acts of introduction of research and issuance of certificates for the conduct of the primary patent information search;
– Consultation on mathematical and statistical support and maintenance of medical research;
– Registration of applications and certificates for the statistical processing of data and the reliability of the research results;
– Consultation on the optimal choice of statistical procedures in the performance of scientific work;
– Consultation on the optimal choice of research design in the performance of scientific work;
– The issuance of the conclusion of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics for the implementation of research work;

Achievements:

The Scientific Research Management Department carries out the following scientific indicators: the number of patents and other documents of protection, the level of commercialization of the results of scientific research and innovation activities, the number of implementation certificates received.

Currently, in the biostatistics sector there are modern statistical programs SPSS 25, RStudio, GraphPad Prism9 for processing scientific research data. The work of the sector is annually updated with modern types of statistical data analysis. During the planning process of scientific research, advisory assistance is provided on choosing a research design and determining the sample.

Income from the commercialization of scientific and research results increases annually. Commercialization of SaRR is carried out through master classes and seminars. Scientists, represented by teachers, conduct paid master classes and seminars for various audiences.

The university entered into a memorandum with JSC Science Foundation on the implementation of the results of scientific and scientific-technical activities. Currently, registration numbers have been received for the results of scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities of teaching staff and annually take part in the grant funding competition for the most promising projects for the commercialization of the results of scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities. The results of the research are introduced into practical healthcare and the educational process and are registered in the department.

Currently, the patent sector has received 30 patents, including 16 invention patents, 12 utility model patents and 2 Eurasian patents. At the same time, the number of copyright certificates is 848.
