Professor Zalika Clemenc-Ketis in Aktobe

From 27 to 31 January 2020, the head of the Family Medicine Department of at the University of Maribor (Slovenia) – Professor Zalika Clemenc-Ketis is visiting at West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University under the programme “Visiting professors”.

Professor Zalika Klemens – Ketis conducts lectures and practical classes for students of the 5-year specialty «General medicine», for residents and faculty members on topical issues of general medical practice, during her stay at the Department of General Medical Practice No. 1 with a social skills course.

Lecture and practical course includes the development of the competence of future GP specialists on the 6 key attributes of a family doctor according to the WONCA standard, such as patient-centered care, a holistic approach, skills for solving specific problems, etc. In addition, Professor Zalika Clemens Kethis is involved in the preparation of the project proposals under the Erasmus+ program, aimed at strengthening the postgraduate education program in family medicine in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
