Student Conference “Medicine and Language”

In accordance with the plan of events of the department of languages ​​and the work of the SSC “Language is the key to knowledge”, on April 4, 2022, a student conference “Medicine and Language”, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the WKMOMU, was held at the department of languages.The purpose of the conference is to popularize the research activities of students as an effective means of self-realization, intellectual and creative development.

 13 first and second year students took part in the the conference. Research papers were presented in Kazakh, Russian and English, with the use of multimedia technology. In the scientific and business environment, the conference is one of the most effective ways of communication. Such event allows to summarize the accumulated experience on topics of interest, get acquainted with new developments in the definite field and establish interesting contacts.

The reports of the conference were devoted to various topical issues of the Kazakh, Russian and English languages, as well as the relationship between the language and the professional culture of a doctor. Actual reports, bright presentations of the conference participants were received with great interest and caused a lively discussion. The presentations of the speakers were evaluated by the competent jury, represented by: senior teacher of the department of languages Yermenova Kulyanda Kaldanovna, senior teacher, master of philological sciences Aldasheva Gulnara Bisembaevna, teacher, master of humanitarian sciences Maikupova Rita Nurlanovna, senior teacher, master of humanitarian sciences Kupenova Aigul Alibekovna, representative of SSC Amirkhanova Regina.

The results of the student conference “Medicine and Language”: the 1st degree diploma was unanimously awarded by the jury to the 2nd year student of the faculty of “Stomatology” Amirzhanov Islam, who made a presentation on the topic “Medicine for poetry”, scientific supervisor – senior teacher, master of humanitarian sciences Abdirgaziyeva A.B., a diploma of the 2nd degree was awarded to a 1-st year student of the International Medical faculty Shoam Gaikwad with a report on the topic “Psychological and lingual difficulties of foreign students in learning Kazakh and Russian languages”, scientific supervisor, senior teacher, master of humanitarian sciences Kanlybayeva A.U., 3rd degree diploma was awarded to students Bisembayeva Araylym, Omarova Karakozayim with the report “The role of the Latin language in medicine”, scientific supervisor, teacher, master of Russian language and literature Sapakhova Zh.A. and Amankeldi Gaukhar with the report “The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Vocabulary of Kazakhstanis”, scientific supervisor, senior teacher, Master of humanitarian sciences Baitakova M.K.

All the participants of the conference were awarded certificates of participation.

In general, the conference was held at a high scientific and methodological level, both in terms of the representativeness and content of reports and discussions, and in terms of the active interest of the participants. We hope that work in this direction will contribute to further popularization and spread of trilingualism.
