Bermagambetova Saule Kabibollaevna – candidate of medical sciences, associate professor. She graduated with honors from the Aktobe State Medical Academy in 1997, then completed graduate school there. After defending her PhD thesis, she began working at the university in 2001 as a teacher. Scientific and pedagogical experience – 23 years. Author and co-author of more than 150 published works (including in the Web of Science Core Collection – 8; Scopus – 22), 3 innovative patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 10 copyright certificates, 11 textbooks, 8 methodological recommendations. H-index – 4. Prepared one PhD and two masters of medical sciences, 1 master of health.

History of creation

The history of the department begins in 2005, when two new departments were founded at the university – the Department of Food Hygiene and Hygiene of Children and Adolescents and the Department of Municipal and Occupational Hygiene. In 2007 they were merged into one department. Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tolendy Karimovich Karimov was appointed head of the department during its formation. The department worked with this structure until August 2010, when it was again reorganized into two departments – the Department of Food Hygiene and Hygiene of Children and Adolescents and the Department of Communal and Occupational Hygiene. From 2010 to 2015, the Department of Municipal and Occupational Hygiene was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Arstan Abdramanovich Mamyrbaev. From 2010 to 2017, the department of food hygiene and hygiene of children and adolescents, and later the department of hygienic disciplines with occupational diseases, was headed by candidate of medical sciences, associate professor S.K. Bermagambetova. From 2017 to 2021, the head of the department was Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor V.M. Sabyrakhmetova. From September 2021 to the present, the head of the department

is S.K. Bermagambetova.

Objectives

Improving educational and methodological work, introducing innovative technologies and teaching methods into the educational process of the department, improving the professional skills of the teaching staff, research and educational work.

Activities

The department trains students in core disciplines and specially designed elective courses of educational programs “Medical and Preventive Care”, “Public Health”, “General Medicine”, “Nursing”, “Pharmacy”, interns of the educational program “Dentistry”, residents of the direction “Gastroenterology”, foreign students of the international medical faculty, students of the joint program with Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov “IT medicine”. Master’s students are being trained in the educational programs “Medical and Preventive Care”, “Public Health” and “Medicine”, as well as doctoral students in the educational program “Public Health”. Classes and lectures are conducted using innovative technologies; new high-tech teaching methods are being introduced, including dual vocational education, as the most common and effective form of personnel training, combining theory and practice, with the aim of comprehensive training of qualified specialists. For the purpose of high-quality training of students, teachers of the department work closely with specialists from the Republican State Administration “Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control for the Aktobe Region” of the Committee of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, as well as the Branch of the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management “National Center of Expertise” Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Aktobe region, on the basis of which students undergo practical training. Achievements

Employees of the department actively participate in the implementation of scientific and technical projects financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan; in recent years alone, the department has participated in the implementation of 5 major scientific projects. As part of the scientific and technological progress, the department’s employees have published dozens of articles, including in international peer-reviewed scientific publications; textbooks, monographs, methodological recommendations have been published, foreign and republican patents have been prepared, and a “Handbook on the toxicology of chemicals at hydrocarbon production and processing enterprises” has been published. The results of the study have been implemented in many medical and preventive institutions of the republic. The department’s teaching staff actively takes part in international scientific, practical and methodological conferences, congresses, and symposiums both in the Republic and abroad.

Over the past 10 years alone, the department’s staff have trained 6 PhDs and 16 masters of medical sciences and masters of health.

Prospects for the development and improvement of the department are aimed at training a specialist of a new formation with broad fundamental knowledge; proactive, navigating in a rapidly changing world; improvement of teaching methods and technologies; increasing the level of the pedagogical process; development of priority areas in science.
