Kurmangazin Meirambek Sagnaevich is a qualified infectious disease specialist of the highest categories, the chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the Aktobe Regional Health Department. He worked in the foci of plague, cholera, anthrax, typhoid fever and coronavirus infections in the territory of neighboring regions. Since 2011, he has been the scientific director of the regional hepatological Center, where he conducts organizational, advisory and therapeutic work.

It is a scientific research work. It has one patent for modification, five rationalization proposals. More than 150 scientific articles have been published, including 12 methodological recommendations for the study of the Kazakh language “Atlas of infectious diseases”. In 1999, he defended his candidate’s dissertation on the topic: “the assessment of the effectiveness of Magneto – bishophytotherapy in the complex treatment of long-term chronic brucellosis of the locomotor form” in Almaty.  “I don’t know,” he said. Since 2011, it is accredited by an independent expert.

The decision of the Committee on control in the field of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 25.05.2010 was made by an associate professor (ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR) on the specialty of Medicine.

The decision of the school Council of the NIEMB Center from 26.03.2017 was made by the Faculty of specialty medicine.

For the period of work, he was awarded the Doctor of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Diploma of the Minister of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2011, the winner of the competition “Shapagat” in the Nomination “Best Doctor”, in 2015, the medal “for contribution to the development of Gastroenterology and Hepatology”, in 2019, the award “for contribution to health care”, in 2020, the award “PARASAT”, the winner of the award “Halyk algysy”, awarded the Medal “people of the Aktobe region for 2021 and” algys letter “from the mayor’s Office of the mugalzhar District for 2022″ for contribution to the development of the University”.

History of creation:

The Department of Infectious Diseases was organized in 1961 by order of the rector No. 25 dated 02/22/1961. The first head of the department was Professor Aron Moiseevich Gubinsky, who headed the department from 1961 to 1963. In subsequent years, the department was headed by associate professors Baertueva Anna Mareevna (1963-1968), Smagulov Kopzhasar Ziyatdinovich (1969-1983), Professor Duisenov Kuandyk Duisenovich (1983-1994), PhD, Associate Professor Turebaeva Dildash Iskalievna (1994- 1999), Kurmangazin Meirambek Sagnaevich (1999-2002), Musabekov Amirzhan Akimalovich (2002-2009). Since 2009, the department has been headed by Kurmangazin Meirambek Sagnaevich.

Since 1963, a clinical residency has been opened at the department. The first clinical residents were Duisenov Kuandyk Duisenovich, Izimbergenova Toyash Tagibergenovna. Since 1979, cadets of the Faculty of Advanced Medical Education have been working at the department.

The staff of the department and graduates of clinical residency have been working for various years in the near and far abroad, as well as in other cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. RAS Nelly Yakovlevna works in Germany, in the city of Bonn, Smagulov Kopzhasar Ziyatdinovich and Smagulova Elena Grigoryevna – in Moscow, there, MD Umbetova Karina Turakbayevna works as a professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases of Sechenov University, Associate professor Bolbot Valentina Ivanovna works as an infectious diseases doctor in the Stavropol Territory. In Almaty, the Department of Infectious Diseases of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarova is headed by MD, Professor Duisenova Amangul Kuandykovna, associate professors at the same department are Turebekova Ravilya Aitmukhambetovna, Shopaeva Gulzhan Amangeldievna. MD Utepbergenova Gulmira Alkenovna currently works as a professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Moscow State Technical University. Ahmet Yasawi. Turebayeva Gulsimzhan Orynbasarovna and works at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. Galina Dautovna Zhumagalieva, one of the country’s leading pediatric infectious diseases specialists, works as a professor at the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases of the National Academy of Medical Sciences.

Purpose: to train students, interns, residents and doctors in skills and competencies in the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of infectious diseases.

Activity: The department is an organizational, methodological and scientific center for the organization of infectious diseases services in the regions of Western Kazakhstan. The staff of the department conducts consultations of patients, seminars, scientific and practical conferences, etc.

The main directions of scientific work of the department: influenza, etc. Acute respiratory viral infections, diphtheria, clinical and epidemiological characteristics of zoonotic infections in the West Kazakhstan region (brucellosis, listeriosis, rabies), viral hepatitis, coronavirus infection.

Achievements: 11 PhD and 3 master’s theses have been defended at the department. More than 60 collections and methodological recommendations have been published, 2 copyright certificates for the invention have been obtained. 30 innovative proposals for the diagnosis and treatment of viral diseases, intestinal infections, and brucellosis have been implemented. The department has been awarded diplomas of the rector’s office, the trade union committee, and takes an active part in the life of the university.

During the pandemic of coronavirus infection in 2020-2022, the outbreak of measles in 2023-2024, the staff of the department worked in infectious, modular hospitals of the Aktobe region, conducted consultations of patients, seminars, conferences, etc.
