The staff of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics currently includes: Head of the Department – PhD Batyrova G.A., Associate Professor – Ph.D. Zhumagulova S.S.; assistants – Taldybaeva A.Zh., Taskozhina G.E., office manager Kemesova B.B.

History of creation: The Department of Clinical Laboratory and Visual Diagnostics was formed by order of the rector on September 1, 2020. In September 2023, it was reorganized into the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics. Currently, the department has 4 employees. The department employs an experienced teacher with more than 40 years of experience, a doctor of the highest category, candidate of medical sciences Zhumagulova Sagira Seitkulovna.

Objectives: organization of educational, clinical, diagnostic and scientific activities of students.

Activities: the main directions of the department’s work are scientific, pedagogical and clinical activities. Students from the Faculty of General Medicine, including foreign students, and nursing are trained at the department, and residents in the specialty “Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics” are accepted. Courses of advanced training in clinical laboratory diagnostics are also conducted. The department trains doctoral students in the field of Medicine. Scientific work is carried out on various current topics.

Achievements: The department is actively developing new educational programs. A new educational program for residency in the specialty “Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics” has been developed. Department staff conduct seminars and advanced training cycles on regularly updated topics.

The department is actively conducting scientific work. In 2020-2021, an intra-university scientific and technical project was implemented on the topic “The role of microelement status, DNA damage in the development of cancer pathology (using the example of the Aktobe region).” A scientific and technical project was carried out with grant funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Development of an online atlas “Elemental status of the population of the Western region of the Republic of Kazakhstan”” (IRN AP08855535) with a implementation period of 2020-2022. Currently, under the scientific supervision of G.A. Batyrova. a scientific and technical project is being implemented with grant funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Elemental status of the child population of the Western region of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (IRN AP19677517) with a implementation period of 2023-2025. The department has published more than 30 publications, of which 3 articles are included in the Web of Science Core Collection (Clarivate Analytics) database with a Q2 quartile indicator and 5 scientific articles are included in the Scopus database, there is also 1 patent for a utility model, more than 6 certificates of authorship, 2 monographs have been written, 8 in publications recommended by the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
