Don’t forget the doctor’s feat

People remember the feat of Professor Khalida Mamanova during the war years. Called up in February 1942 to the Southwestern Front as head of the outpatient clinic of the 821st battalion of the 24th district of the 2nd Air Army, she recalled: “They sent 6-10 planes, but only 2-3 returned. After the air battles, we went to the field to find the wounded, provide assistance, treat them and send them back into battle.”

At the front, our compatriot cured 18 thousand wounded and sick at 17 commanderies. She voluntarily served in a place with political prisoners and criminals in a penal battalion.

Later, while serving as the chief gynecologist of the 24th district of the 2nd Army, she conducted 216 visits to military units, examined 11,200 people, provided medical care and treatment to 1,482 women. She ensured the preservation of pregnancy and promptly evacuated 394 women to the rear. As a result of the sanitary and hygienic measures carried out, the spread of infectious diseases among women was prevented.

For courage and bravery, Captain of the medical service Khalida Mamanova was awarded the Order of the Red Star, For the Defense of Stalingrad, For the Victory over Germany.”

On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, Victory Day, students of the circle of pathological Physiology, the military department visited the burial place of Khalida Mamanova, the mass grave of the wounded of the Aktobe evacuation hospital, honored the memory, planted trees and flowers.
