Happy Victory Day!

Dear colleagues, faculty, medical staff, staff, veterans, students, undergraduates, residents, doctoral students!

I sincerely congratulate you on Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War! This day is filled with a special meaning. The Great Victory gave us a peaceful life and freedom, we are grateful to all those who fought at the front and in the rear, reviving our country in the difficult post-war years, they became examples of patriotism and fortitude for us. We know what a high price the Victory came at.

During the Second World War, about 1.2 million Kazakhstanis went to the front, one in two of them died. The feat they accomplished is timeless, as our gratitude to those who accomplished it is boundless, showing sacred love for their country, unparalleled courage, and indestructibility of spirit. All this is unforgettable and sacred to us. It is our sacred duty to preserve this memory, to pass on to the next generations about the hardships that befell our ancestors.

Medical workers made an invaluable contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. During the war years, more than 22 million people passed through hospitals, of which 17 million were returned to service. Thanks to medical workers, 72% of the wounded and 90% of those who fell ill on the battlefields were saved. During the war, about 85 thousand medical workers (doctors, nurses, medical instructors/orderlies) died or went missing.

The staff of our university cherishes the memory of thirty-one front-line soldiers, teachers, employees who courageously and steadfastly fought on the fronts, remaining in peaceful life a true example of love for their country. Our duty is to be worthy of the Great Feat, which will forever remain in the historical memory of the people. The younger generation should remember at what a high price they got the right to life and happiness, and worthily continue the traditions and heritage of our ancestors. Our duty is to keep the peace!

Today, working for the benefit and prosperity of our Kazakhstan, each of us strives to be a worthy heir to the heroes of Victory.

Happy holidays! Please accept my sincere wishes of good health, confidence in the future and new successes for the benefit of our Kazakhstan! Peace, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones!

With respect,
