  1. Prevention of preeclampsia with prolonged folic acid intake with assessment of genetically determined disorders of folate metabolism: a randomized controlled trial with an embedded cohort study.
  2. Prediction of preeclampsia based on concentrations of PLGF and sFlt-1 in urine in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Awards:

History of creation

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was established in 1960 at the Aktobe State Medical Institute. The first head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was Professor M.A. Bulina, who worked as a military surgeon at the hospital during the Great Patriotic War. Under her leadership, the first scientific studies on the contractile activity of the uterus were conducted. 7 PhD theses have been defended on this issue, more than a hundred scientific papers have been published, and 5 patents have been issued. After her retirement in 1983, Professor K.K. Kudaibergenov became the head of the department, who headed scientific research on the problems of postpartum purulent-septic diseases. His doctoral dissertation is devoted to the topic “Clinical and immunological features in women with postpartum septic diseases”. Under the guidance of Kudaibergenov K.K., 3 PhD theses were defended.

Since 1995, Professor T.M. Ukybasova has been elected head of the department. Since that time, the direction of the scientific work of the department has been the study of the functions of the female body in conditions of environmental distress. Under her leadership, 24 PhD theses have been defended, about 500 scientific papers have been published, and more than 20 patents have been issued. Since 2008, Associate Professor A.B. Tusupkaliev has been appointed head of the department, who studies the pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of benign tumors of the female body. Two professors, 3 associate professors, and 5 assistants work under his supervision. The degree of the department is 85%.

Objectives: Today, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Marat Ospanov ZKMU is a large cohesive team working at the bases of maternity hospitals in Aktobe. He faces difficult, promising and noble tasks: to help the birth of a new life, strengthen the health of the mother, create conditions for increasing the birth rate and reducing child mortality.

Activity: The department provides highly qualified assistance to practical healthcare. Since 2009. Aktobe region is a pilot region for the introduction of effective perinatal technologies, in connection with which the staff of the department conducts trainings and master classes in the Aktobe region. The head of the department actively cooperates with the theoretical and clinical departments of the Academy, leading scientific centers of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many of the listed problems were solved during the performance of dissertations, presented by patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rational proposals of the department staff.
